!! Scott's Poisoned Bird Seed

Postby Shelby » Thu Mar 22, 2012 1:37 pm

I just found this article on the internet and I felt I should pass it along. Please read, especially if you have finches or other aviary birds, or if you like feeding wild birds in your yard.

Scott's Miracle- Gro company knowingly sold poisoned birdseed.

oh my God! Shelby I"m so glad you posted about this to make people aware!!! I will stay away from those brands.

This makes me sooooo MAD! To them it was all about money, while the birds suffered to their death and they didn’t care !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! about these babies!

They knowingly manufactured and sold bird seed putting pesticides in them to prevent insects from consuming the products during storage.

I have as well emailed this out to all my friends who are bird owners and even included potential bird owners, people who I know are contemplating getting birds, etc.! I also feed outside birds in bird feeders, so I'm so glad I know now to stay away from these products! There's some still circulating!

I was horrified about the case of almost 100 aviary birds being killed after a feeding! I can't imagine losing so many pets all at once.
