Great advice. I tried this with my brown-headed parrot to no success but some people's birds stop plucking when given a phone book or mop head.
If you do get a mop head be very careful about what you buy because nowadays a lot of them are treated with chemicals that would be harmful to your bird (antimicrobial, etc.).
