Missing feathers?

Postby Rokisha » Sun Apr 08, 2012 1:57 pm

I started noticing a few feathers around Joe's cage(Small white ones that are kind of fluffy). I'm not sure if she's plucking her feathers or just molting but she seems to want to be petted more often now regardless. Any ideas on which one it could be?

the fluffy ones come off all the time.it's when you see bald spots that you worry.

Ah ok... but how can one tell the difference between plucking and molting?

with plucking you see bald spots with molting you'll see pin feathers. with plucking it's like ocd they concentrait it in one area mostly.mya was bald from neck to tail feathers now she has a small line of baldness down her chest an belly, when she gets stressed i see her pull hard on her feathers with her feet.
