Hello guys...

I wish that everyone is ok.

there is something strange happened to me with my little parrot ( 50 days old )

I used to feed it 30L of its Cerelac. but after a few weeks he stoped eating the 30L
he eats only 15L now. what is the reason for this problem ?

and i have one more question

is the cerelac enough for him... i mean does he need something else for his health? I'm worried that the cerelac is not enough because he seems very lazy and sleep all the time when he is on my hand.

Well I just had to googl;e it cuz I didn't know what it was. I don't know why your feeding baby food but you either need a formulated handrearing formula for parrots or you need to get your bird eating pellets designed for birds if it is weaned. It will also need fresh fruits and veg every day.

I don't know where you live but cerelac is NOT for parrots. As marie said, its a human infant formula and he needs a baby parrot handfeeding formula, or in the very least DIY handfeeding formula recipe from a successful breeder in your area.
I'd also question the quality of a breeder who lets an inexperienced handfeeder take home a bird that isn't weaned (many unweaned babies die this way)---if at all possible please return your little one to his breeder until he is eating on his own.
As evidenced by his lack-luster attitude (of course, all babies nap frequently as they are growing and its alot of work)---cerelac is not nourishing him properly.
If this is not possible, please find a reputable and experienced, successful breeder and ask them what they use to wean their babies (look for signs of health and knowledge, obviously a breeder with stunted babies or using anything inappropriate for them--like cerelac or dairy etc---is not one to copy) and study them closely. Do as they do and hopefully your little one will survive and if you are lucky thrive. Weaning is a critical time wherein the personality, mind and tendencies of the parrot are set for the rest of its life and are hard to change, its not something for the inexperienced person.

Why did you buy this baby bird without doing ANY research?!? firstly, weaning a baby bird itself is very dangerous because SO many emergencies can happen, do you have several thousand dollars in tw bank in case of an emergency?

That formula is for humans, why would you feed that to a bird? Now that baby is going to be stunted in growth and have severe health problems.. Imagine if you fed a human infant bird food!!

You need to take him to an avian vet, not just any vet but a certified avian vet. Also, go to your local bird/pet store and get a bag of PARROT hand feeding formula. You need it right away.

Also, birds eat less formula as they grow up, this is when you start offering parot pellets as well as various fruits/veggies, grains EVERY day. Birds need veggies, carbs and protein just like humans.

Please, get a bag of parrot hand feeding formula and take him to an avian vet right away.

Also, if your ring neck is 50days old and sleeps all the time, there are serious problems. He should be curious and nibbling on different foods and exploring.

well.... there is something wrong here it's my mistake

I used to call this kind of food ((babies food)) as a CERELAC. It's not that one which human babies eat it's for parrot. It's my mistake sorry for this mistake but as i told i used to call this type of food as CERELAC because it is like CERELAC. I say it when i saw it the first time and it's going with my tongue until now

but as i found in my searching is that fruit and vegetables can lead the baby bird to have a diarrhea

i asked a breeder and i asked in some websites about giving them fruit and vegetables but they all say that they might get diarrhea.

if they need to eat fruit and veg please tell me how to feed it to my bird. there is of course a special way to feed him fru and veg

He is probably malnuriched and sick from the lactose in the human formula.

First make an appointment with an avian vet. Then get him some small RoudyBush pellets. Make him some oatmeal with water not milk. Look in your pantry and find anything with grain and offer it to him. Give him fresh veggies and fruit if you have them. Frozen veggies are a good substitute. I don't know where you are but get him into some sunshine. Talk to him and encourage him to live. Offer every kind of food you can no matter how many little bowls it takes. (my dishwasher is full of pet food bowls) Also, give him bottled water. He could be having a reaction to tap water. I buy the big 5 gal jugs. All my pets get bottled water. It costs more but you can't put a price on your critters health.

I find the orlux handfeeding formula to look a bit sketchy to me.
I'd want something specifically designed for your type of parrot (high-fat/higher energy like greys n macaws vs tiels and ringnecks for example)--or at least young parrots in general.

Otherwise, follow liz's advice. As was said, your little bird is probably sick or malnourished and needs vet care ASAP as well as proper care and food.
