Well I've still not heard back from my vet yet. So I'm going to chase him up after the weekend. I figure he has had plenty of time to recieve and review the questionairre he sent me.

The underside of Ollies wings are looking a bit better now, alot less sore looking and no signs of dried blood like before, but he is still clearly irritated by them. Harlie still seems a bit irritated but seems to have calmed down a bit too. So very confusing.

This pic makes the bald spot look slightly smaller than it actually is.

Well my little Ollie seemed ok yesterday but today he won't come out of his happy hut. His weight is still stable but examining him really closely he seems to be losing condition.

Managed to get an emergancy appointment at 4pm today. Worried sick :(

Thank you. just a long wait til 4 now. Definitely another sign something is wrong cuz he only ever wants to be with people and will come straight to the front of the cage every single time. If you open the door he is usually out stupidly fast. Today I couldn't even bribe him to come out with sunflowers, although once I did get him out to examine him I got a nasty bite and then he took the food from me plus a few others.

Thanks everyone.

The vet agrees with me that he is losing condition but not actually losing weight. You can feel his pelvis bones now which you couldn't before and his feathers are losing their shine.

Of course Ollie perked up alot as soon as we got in the car to go to the vets, he chirped the whole way through the journey, then kept making kiss noises to everyone in the waiting room and was full of beans when the vet examined him. Basicly making me look like a liar.

Anyhow I think the vet is starting to agree with me more and more that it is not a psychological issue, he has asked for a couple of days to think about what to test him for next and go back over his diet and what care he gets as all the other tests have come back negative.

I've got some powder to disolve in his water in the meantime to try to build him back up a bit.

I am so sorry to hear about this... It sounds mysterious and very sad. I'd be mortified and probably not be able to do work or sleep well because of all the worrying!!

Keep updating us.

Marie Im so sorry about Ollie [it must be very stressful] :( Maybe if you feel like hes not getting enough nutrients and is not his peppy self. You can incorperate baby parrot formula in his diet.[its full of everthing]I can only give Harlow 2 syringes of it a day [I dont want her to throw it up.] I feel its helping keep her alive.Im going to try to put it in birdy bread next. Best wishes to Ollie :)

Thank you terri, I will have to get some forumla. I used to keep eggfood in as an emergancy feed and gave them a little when the birds moulted but I ended up wasting so much of it I ended up giving that idea up as a bad job. I may ask a local breeder if they would be willing to sell me small amounts of proper handrearing formula at a time opposed to me wasting 90% of a full bag.

How is Harlow now? I hope she is getting a bit stronger? Any luck with the meds/getting her to the new vet/contact with the old vet? etc I know how worried you must be, I honestly thought Ollie was on deaths door this morning. I'm still praying for good news for you.
