Just back from the vets yet again, the vet thinks Harlie is in good condition other than the fact she isn't eating much. She only had 1g of food so far today so he wanted to get her in ASAP but was shocked at how well she seemed other than that and some discoloured feaces. He gave a B vitamin injection and told me to see how she is tomorrow, if she is no better we are going to have to crop feed her (that should be fun....) and he wants to put her back on the flagyl if theres no improvement.
Harlie was pretty well behaved for the vet and stepped up for him repeatedly apart from right before the injection where she refused to and did a few circuits of the room. As soon as it was done she was happy enough to step up for him several times again.

Fingers crossed she picks up for tomorrow.

hoping for all the best for Harlie hopefully you wont have to "crop feed" her - is that the same thing as handfeeding? not sure, but in anycase, I hope she stays in good condition enough not to need it.

No its more invasive because as I understand it you feed a tube into the crop so the bird doesn't get a choice whether to eat or not. I've tried syringe feeding but she is too terrified of being restrained to eat that way.

Thoroughly fed up now, she's only taken another gram overnight, although she does appear to be more lively today. She didn't even look when I changed her food this morning but has since come down and had a little peck but it was very very halfhearted peck. I've made the desicion to put her back on the meds. if she hasn't eaten by dinner I will reattempt the handfeeding and if not contact the vet for crop feeding stuff.

It really does sound as if the meds are upsetting her tummy. Our previous bird had some antibiotics and the same thing happened on the 3-4th round of drugs. It doesn't upset them the first or even second time but prolonged drugs exposure causes the tummy to go a bit funny and poop goes funny colour.

Vet and you know best but it did happen to Sally.

Tried that already shes not even bothered by sunflowers which usually she goes crazy for.

I did think that but she's been off of the meds 5 days now so was hoping if it was that she would have settled by now. Plus her poop was a strange colour on and off prior to going on them.

Poor Harlie! I hope you don't have to end up crop feeding her, that sounds unpleasant.
