QUAKER AND FICUS

Postby xxlazaro » Wed Apr 25, 2012 6:13 pm

Hello my brother has a quaker parrot and we currently cut a branch off a ficus tree from my brothers in law and we planning on using it as a play gym we were wondering if the branch is safe.

Any help is appreciated :monk: :greycockatiel:

Ficus is actually safe when you let it dry out. What makes it unsafe is when you freshly cut it and the sap is what cause skin irritation and dermatitis. I myself have used branches from a ficus tree that produces fruit also know as common fig.
