New tiel

Postby xxlazaro » Tue May 08, 2012 5:01 pm

Hello taday I purchased a baby Cockatiel and everything has gone good I purchased him at all pets emporium and they come vet checked so I just let him and my first tiel meet but since he's home he has eaten but hasn't drank much and he is sleeping most of the time they have told me it could be that he is missing his tiel and ringneck friends (he was in the same cage as four other cockatiel and 2 baby ringneck) and they also told me that he hasn't gotten used to the environment and that babies are tired most of the time. And so this is the first time that I have owned two birds at a time so if anyone has any advice on how to take care of them and prevent fighting anything would be highly appreciated.

Thanks again :greycockatiel: :greycockatiel: :)

introduce them in neutral territory away from anything they see as belonging to them like cages and toys.

Thank You very much we actually made the mistake of putting him in her cage for bed and supervised them for a while and he got next to her to cuddle and she hissed/lunged at him....bad experience :(

Again Thank you for the advice and I will attempt the them meeting in a neutral place :)
