My Budgie's panting.

I've noticed that my Budgie seems to open and close his beak as if he's panting. He does it on and off and I'm not sure why. Could it be he's having trouble breathing? I am planning on taking him to the vet soon, but was wondering if this has happened to anyone else bird?

I think that this does indicate that he is having respiratory problems and I recommend you take him to a vet ASAP.

You could also check to see if maybe he's too warm.
If your little guy is in direct sunlight with no shade or if the temperature is a bit high in your home then he might be too warm.
If he also leaves his wings hanging slightly off his body along with the panting it can sometimes be his way of trying to cool down.
Otherwise, I would take him to the vet as you've already planned to do.

yes my grey do that and lift his wing open also if he feels too hot.

So did you take him to the vet? How is he doing?

It has breen rather warm here lately, we've had highs of about 27 degrees lately. I have tried to keep him cool, leaving the window open and such.
I haven't taken him to the vet yet, but I have made an appointment for Friday. It's the earliest I could do without taking time off of work, seeing as the queen's jubilee is next week. But I've been keeping an eye on him, and he is still panting but not as often. He's still acting normally, he's happily chirping away in his cage at the moment.
I am planning on getting an air purifier too, I have a small one but I think I need a larger one. I hope it'll help.

I took Wheatley to the vet today, and she said that he does look like he's having a bit of touble breathing. She gave me some antibiotics, and told me to bring him back in a week to see if he's improved.
I also bought an air purifier to help with some of his dander, hopefully that'll help. He's chirping away now, and he looks ok.
