Raw vs Roasted Sunflower Seeds

For training purposes my LOVES sunflower seeds in the shell. Question, does anyone roast their own? Also has anyone fed them raw? I recently found a local source of raw/unsalted seed and am just curious.

Why would I roast them =)?

I feed our two raw shelled sunflower seeds as training treats. Im thinking about changing to unshelled though, to speed up the eating process!
