hi,my one and a half year old male budige has developed two "warty"lumps either side of his beak. dose not seem to bother him and are only visible when his feathers are wet after being sprayed with water.any thoughts.... thanks joe

difficult to get a picture of his warts without handling him,as it does not cause any distress. ive decided just to keep an eye on it for now.
there are two other budgies in the cage,no probs with them.
will keep you informed.

its scaley face mite.taking him to vet.

hes been to the vet and yes it was scaley face mite.
its a parasite,can be killed by a product called "xeno"
its been administered and i will observe.

If I remember right you may need to treat all your birds if they are kept together, and possibly their environment too to prevent reinfestation, dont quote me on that but might be worth looking into.
