Pellet rating

Postby Zooey » Tue Jul 10, 2012 7:50 pm

I think that to find the best pellets, I'm going to make a chart.
To find the most value, what kinds of things should I take into account for? Like healthfulness, or cost, etc.
Please help me come up with qualities to put on the chart.
They're not your whole life, but they make your life whole.

For a budgie? Neither. Their food isn't expensive and they don't need a lot. I'd buy a budgie seed mix (the better kind you can find) and mix some pellet into it or alternate meals (once it is transitioned to the food) between seed and pellet. Budgies and cockatiels do need a higher proportion of seed in their diet.

I'm not a fan of pellets in general, but especially not for the little guys in whom pellets have been linked to kidney and liver issues.

Thus, I'd recommend a good, balanced fresh food diet with some sprouts, grains, legumes, fruits, veggies and herbs.
