How to get parrot used to water?

My parrotlet hates water it tries to fly away when I put it in the sink. How can I get it used to water??

Judging from your various posts you seem to force your parrot to do things which will back fire and result in a terrified critter. Be gentle and never force your parrot to do anything. Introduce a bowl of water or get a spray bottle and spritz near but not at your parrot. You could try to target your parrot into the spray to show her it's okay. Just because the animal is small enough to man handle does not mean you should. Be sweet.

Put a little birdy bath in his cage. That way, he can go check it out as he pleases when no one is around. If he seems to like that, you can introduce the sink or a shower.

I introduced my birds to water differently though. I put them in the sink without water in it. Once they were comfortable in the sink, I turned on the tap only so a little stream of water came out. They love to play with the little stream! You could try that too.

My birds prefer showers, and will generally follow me if i go into one LOL. Just make sure to set the water pressure on very low and make sure it is not too hot!
