can anyone tell me how old do you have a senegal parrots nails and beak trimmed as i lost the e book that i got with him. might as well ask experienced parrot owners on here, just until i find my e book.
I would guess that you would get it done every 3 months. You can cut the nails yourself (just learn how to cut them properly). There are nerves and blood vessels inside of the beak. You should take the bird to get its beak trimmed by a veterinarian or professional with bird experience. You can also file the nails and the beak to extend the amount of time between the trimmings. Toys and perches may extend the time between the trimmings as well.
Actually a beak should never have to be trimmed at all barring some complication that causes overgrown beaks. If the bird is provided with plenty of wood toys and things to chew on he will keep his beak in check himself.
