Others have already mentioned the article about tomatoes as BS a long time ago and that should suffice. I bumped this thread because the list is helpful anyway.
BUT allow me to add this 7 years later - tomatoes are good for your birds, peeps. Keep calm and carry on.

Yes, I did realize that it was an old thread but few people go to the beginning of any thread they see current, they just read the last page or two and this one had the wrong information on them - thus my comment.
