Toxic plant ?

Postby xxlazaro » Mon Oct 29, 2012 9:01 pm

Hello I have three birds in my house and today my sister in law brought a small plant from her moms house and we don't know what plant it is yet but I was simply wondering if the plant is toxic does it affect the birds through the air or only if they have contact because the plant is not near the birds if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it :)

Any help is appreciated :monk: :greycockatiel: :greycockatiel:

Here is a list that I found Of toxic and safe plants for parrots

http://www.cockatielcottage.net/houseplants.html

If the plant that you have turns out be toxic for your parrot I would just not have it in the house if I was you. Birds get into things, my bird seems to try harder to get into things he's not supposed to . So if the plant is toxic, or you can't find what it is, I would get rid of it and get a plant that you know is safe for them.

Agreed with Tro.

Unless you know the plant is a safe one, and you don't know what kind it is, be on the safe side and remove the plant.

Agree with previous posts.
You could always post a pic on here and see if anyone can identify it for you- I probably cant cuz im hopeless with plants but other people might. In the meantime keep it in a room the birds never ever go in.
