Prefers to be handfed

Postby GreenWing » Wed Nov 14, 2012 12:59 am

Tiki is now about ten months old and is still very much a young parrot, but when it comes to feeding her fresh foods, she isn't completely independent. She begs a lot, and won't eat some of it UNLESS it's hand fed to her. Is this typical/normal? Any comments or advice?

Yeah I've got the same problem with my new :rainbow: I've had him for almost a week and had to wean him myself hand mainly only only eats when I feed it to him so I make him work for it and he can already fly to me from about a metre away

Hey, thanks for the reply, Pricey_Boy. 'Much appreciated and glad I'm not alone in this. Tiki is still technically a baby and sure, this is a baby-thing... I just thought she'd be more independent by now but she sure likes to be coddled and babied, that's for sure! Thanks again and looking forward to hearing more about your bird.
