Well Baylee has a respiratory infection she was 10 days on enrofloxacine or aka Anti-CRD the other vet said he didnt recommend it for more than 10 days. Well i thought it was working but just yesterday i saw Baylee sneezing and with nasal fluids on her right nostril and she is very aggressive today, i made an appointment with other vet for tomorrow morning.

very sorry to hear that Baylee is ill.

you may already be doing this, but it will help her to feel more comfortable if you set up an low watt infrared heat lamp (the kind used for reptiles -check in your local pet store) about 6 inches away from the cage, outside the cage. Baylee is prob experiencing chills and is likely to move closer to the warmth it emits. keep the cage covered on two other sides with a towel or blanket, to release excess heat from the area while maintaining warmth.

sick birds are often aggressive. it would probably be best to leave her in her cage while she is dealing with this illness, because it might be painful for her to be handled. if she's aggressive, that means she doesnt want to be handled. cage time is also recovery time: it will give her the chance to sleep and work on beating the infection.

best of luck at the vet - i hope all goes well and that the vet will be able to put Baylee on the road to recovery.

Sorry to hear your parrot is sick, I hope baylee is better soon. Believe me I know how worrying it is.
When you say the room is warm, can I ask how warm? What feels warm to us wont always mean it feels warm to a bird, their little bodies run at a higher temperature than we do. Lots of good wishes for you and Baylee being sent your way.

Well it is 32 degrees celcius, that is because we have an apparatament of 2 floors and the 2nd floor we rarely use it (thats where she is) , so the windows are always closed upstairs, the cold air from the 1st floor goes to the 2nd floor , since the windows are always closed there the cold air becomes hot air, since the air is retained there. Its the best place for her... downstairs its 28 degrees celcius.

LOL its natural air we dont have a heater or anything like that, we do have an ambiental thermometer :) We don't get snow so no need for a heater in the house lol. The minimum temperature that we get in December is 22-25 degrees celcius last year it went down to 19 degrees celcius.

Do you not have air con? I couldn't cope with it that hot year round. That said I can't cope with it cold either. We don't tend to get an in between comfortable temperature here, its feels like it lurches from extremes. Ok not quite true, we brits just like to moan alot :P

Hows Baylee today?

So well today it was confirmed that Baylee is a girl, the reason why she has had respiratory infections twice this year is because she have an egg that broke inside of her so now she is on oxitocine, liquid calcium and antibiotics. Vet doesnt know when this happened but it has been a year since it started to form, vet said its a miracle that she isnt dead yet o.o and also said that its a time bomb and that in 3 days it should expell something not an egg as such but in parts like the yolk and such.

No i dont have air conditioner.

oh my goodness, so sad to hear this! :( poor little Baylee!

at least your vet was able to diagnose the situation, that's a step in the right direction. hang in there! wishing your little Baylee a sound recovery, and all the best to you as you deal with this situation!
