Thanks, CML. You were absolutely right. You get the awesome sticker of the day! :D I'm also glad she's okay, too. Maybe your parrots will molt in the Spring, that is what the avian vet mentioned...

GreenWing wrote:TIKI IS FINE. In fact the vet said she had the healthiest dung of the day, lol. She doesn't have "darkened feathers" or even stress bars. She has yet to have her molt which she bypassed last Fall. Although we are flighting Tiki, who turns 1 year in a couple of days, she has not grown out her clippings because she has not had her molt.

But it doesn't cost us anything to have you go to the vet so we could say I told you so.

Kili didn't molt and gain flight feathers until a few months after 1 year either. The molt isn't strictly seasonal although can be season induced once they are stable. If you told me those were it's baby feathers I would have told you not to bother going to the vet. But you assured us those were new in which case it might be a little concerning.

However, don't take advice from store people period.

Yuk yuk yuk! :D I know, I know, but I had to know for sure because I was worried about my bird, and that lady, man... geeeeeeeze did she get on my case... and for nothing, too

Oh well, she had her check up, and that's a good thing.
