Roasted Nuts

Postby Khaledra » Mon Feb 04, 2013 4:51 am

Hello everyone, this is my first visit!

I am a first-time parrot owner and have had Sparky, my green cheek conure for over 2 years. Varying her diet has been something of an uphill battle as she wouldn't eat anything but sunflower seeds when I got her. Now she eats some fruit and veg (although I struggle with green leafy veg) along with her pelleted seed mix.

My question is this: is it ok to feed her roasted mixed nuts? Specifically these:

(not peanuts).

She doesn't show any interest in raw nuts at all, but can't get enough of the roasted ones I get for myself. I'm only asking because she seems a bit under the weather today, and I can't think of anything else I've done differently.

Thank you in advance!

Small amounts occasionally should be fine as thery don't appear to be salted. I really wouldn't feed as part of the regular diet though.
