I don't mean to sound harsh, I worry as much but do try to relax a little. You have an appointment for him soon. Just take a picture of the bubbly poop and anything else that might be abnormal. If you have have anything suitable take a sample with you. I'm sure he Will be fine.
I don't take that as harsh at all you're totally right. It's because his new... I feel so at one with Eddie I know when he is happy, sad, disgruntled and most of the time I felt comfortable knowing if something is wrong. Percy, as much as I love the little bundle, is a stranger... he could have just had a spot of gas... He just did a perfectly normal poop.
I'm a vet a assistant and i used those two pages to know that there was something wrong with Baylee when she got sick in December, in her case thirst increased, hunger decreased but never actually stopped. Tail bobbing is not normal. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BcnkdPOysy ... cnkdPOysyU Budgie tail bobbing. Baylee also showed tail bobbing, at night was worse. Also she got sick in january 2012 so i knew what i was looking at, and knew i had to act fast, difference was that this time she was moré alert and that confused me, then i looked up on the internet and found those two pages.
A quiet parrot its a busy parrot. A lovebird has the soul of a larger parrot in a small body.
He's definitely not tail bobbing like that... He bobs but not constantly and most of the time not in time with his breathing and he also is preening when he does this and emptying his crop and when he walks. Red rumps have extremely long tail feather's in comparison to their size so they do bounce around with slight movements. When we first got Eddie he did a little of this when he was sleeping but the avian vet for him advised us he was just young and they do that to keep balance which may also explain percy's habit of doing it. In an adult bird it is very concerning obviously! I will mention it anyway, it was really really slight and then one big bob every now when he woke up a bit.
He's not sitting in corner but on his Java branch and he wasn't puffed up until he went to sleep. He puffes up when he goes to sleep on the back and his chest. Red Rumps commonly puff up their chests and the rest of his plumage was compact. Also they kind of puff up and sit... its really wierd but I look at videos and that is normal if he's sleeping or dozing.
His poops are getting bubbles still although there has been normal ones and those most recent are getting smaller bubbles. As I mentioned it could be where he has started eating more where he is more comfortable and where he has an empty tummy it's kind of pushed out gas. But we will see at the vets.
yes, its good youre taking him in to the vet, just to be sure, even if he does look fine and everything, sometimes its helpful just to go, so you can rule out illness from regular behavior, etc. all the best at the vet, and let us know how it goes
