Diameter of a Perch

I will be replacing a perch that screws to top of my Amazon Parrots birdcage. Can anyone tell me the best diameter for a perch? Thank you, Anita

what kind of amazon do you have? the smaller amazons will have smaller feet than the big amazons, etc

also, perches with naturally varying diameters are best - like natural java, manzanita, or other natural wood perches. the natural variation in the perch width will help ensure the health of the birds feet.
