How to Make Bar Spacing Smaller

I got a really big parrot cage for a good price but the bar spacing is too big for a parrotlet. I might have to sell it again but is there any way to make it smaller. Thanks.

Two other ways that come to mind are feeding your bird really really well or putting the cage in the wash at the wrong temperature
