My dear, for a ekkie you are going to need a day cage, too, because they are BIG TIME chewers and cannot be left without supervision. But, for a sleeping cage, you will need one that is big enough for him to stretch comfortably and a good perch (not a dowel).

:-) The "night cage" will not be small at all, but I am home every day and want to use a "play-tree" in the livingroom in daytime and mostly bring him with me when I go out (if he must stay home, he will be using the "nightcage") . Is the Eclectus a bigger "chewer" than other parrots? I have lived with parrots for some years, a amazon and a ara at different times. So i know what it's like to have a big bird in the house and in your life... I really just need to know if there is other things than the material not to be toxic i need to be aware about because it is a eclectus...
Do you meen that they bite more than other birds? I have read several places that they are less "moody".

I thank you for answering :)
