Your Senegal needs to be quarantined for 30 days and if your budgies have not seen a vet for a long time they need to have a wellness exam by an avian vet. This is to insure that neither have any contagious diseases. If you Senegal hasn't had this exam he needs it as well.
From there, as long as you don't allow the budgies and Senegal to interact with each other you should be fine. The problem is that the Senegal will most likely kill the budgies.

Well, actually, what people consider a 'wellness' exam does not include testing for contagious diseases, that needs to be done separately (and it's quite expensive if done through the vet which I don't, I use an online avian lab). I don't know about your budgies but if they've had, say, chlamydiosis (aka psittacosis) they would continue shedding the organism throughout their life whenever they are stressed out (and captive birds get stressed out very often and easily) so, yes, they could infect your Senegal. They are also prone to AGY as well as scaley mites which are both contagious, and something called soft or French molt but this one is not contagious, it's a dietary and light schedule issue.

Quarantine is always necessary but it doesn't prevent contagion from asymptomatic carriers and, if any of your budgies is one, keeping them in the same room could make your Senegal sick as most of these diseases are shed in the poop which, upon drying up start disintegrating and the microscopic pieces become airborne and get breathed in by the healthy bird.

Didn't know that they wouldn't check for contagious diseases. Kina defeats the whole purpose of it. Any way thank you.

Well, I was wrong about the exams as I wasn't aware that they wouldn't test for contagious disease. I am sorry about that, but I must say that in my mind it kind of defeats the purpose of the exam.
But it does not change the fact that A Senegal can very easily kill a budgie, they have been known to trap other parrots of twice their size in a corner of a cage. That makes for a pretty tough little bird. There are other people on this forum who have both Senegals and budgies, perhaps they will respond to this and let you know how they work with it.

When I got my bird, she came with a certificate for a free exam from a nearby AV. It turned out that while the exam was free, the tests were extra-but the AV suggested doing the contagious disease tests(for a fee) while I was there, and sent me results in the mail.

Yes, Wolf, you are right, it does defeat the purpose but people don't want to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars testing a baby bird after they spent hundreds if not thousands on the bird itself, they always assume they are healthy but we all know that's not the case as breeders have sold birds with fatal and contagious diseases. I always thought that a responsible avian vet should always recommend certain tests but I've heard people saying their avian vet pronounced their bird healthy by giving it just a visual examination. I've also heard people saying their avian vet said their clipped bird has 'good muscle tone', an impossibility no matter how you look at it. And that's two of the reasons why I've lost trust in avian vets. Not that I don't use them because I do, of course, but I just don't trust their opinion 100% and follow it blindly, I rely on my own counsel as well as theirs.

I don't trust anyone enough to blindly follow their advice, I always ask questions and then do my research again, because I research it first as well. In the end it is always up to the owner to find and institute the correct answer.

Indeed it is. Unfortunately, most owner either ask their vet or pose questions in bird forums, neither system been any good, if you ask me.
