Another parrot rescue on the news... Just a comment on the pictures we've been seeing lately on rescues: have you noticed how they are all run by old people?

Well, I do agree that old people have a lot going against them in terms of 'forever home' but I don't believe there is such a thing as a 'forever' home for parrots and, if you ask me, using this wording is harmful to parrots because people get the idea that rehoming them is bad when, in reality, it's inevitable. In truth, I would much rather rehome to an older couple than to a young one because old people usually have stable relationships, no children and more time than young people.
