Because it's illegal to traffic in wild-caughts, they steal the eggs of the wild birds and sell them! Now, that might not sound like much to most people but the large macaws only lay one single clutch a year and taking into consideration that poaching and deforestation is decimating the populations, stealing the eggs means they will become extinct all the much sooner!
