How to make your parrot go inside the cage

Greetings of the day,

I am new to this forum and I need your help, as I can see there are lot of Experts

My question is how to train your parrot to go back into the cage, as I am training my parrot (Indian Ringneck) everyday and its very difficult for me to send him back in cage.

My IRN bites whenever I try to put him back in Cage.

i know its hard but try to act like the biting does not affect you. if you scream ow! and bring him out again he has learnt that biting will get him what he wants. also try making going in the cage rewarding like its really fun! buy toys and play with them first so it makes him want them and then hang it in his cage play with it some more make it really fun like its SOO much more fun to play with the toy. see if he will go in and play with the toy.

good advice, I was wondering the same thing! our little guy had his first trip out of his cage today and then we were sitting there wondering how we were gonna get him back in....

Scooter used to do this. I recently wrote about it on the biting lovebird thread. Bottom line was, don't bring him back out if he bites, praise & reward for going in, try to mitigate any reason he might not want to go in (we felt Scooter may, because of his background, be afraid anytime we put him back it might be a long time before he'd be let out again, so we'd put him in and then take him out again a little bit later).

I tried this, praising him, giving him rewards, but its not working, they both are really scared or shy I m not able to figure this out. but they bite really hard

I am now looking for building up a good raport with them first.
so looking out your view and comments on how to build a good raport with your parrot

try not to make going back in the cage negative. if he bites and you go and throw him in the cage he will think everytime hes going back in the cage he has done something wrong. which will reverse what your trying to achieve. you have to figure out what your bird loves and incorporate it into his cage to make it fun and rewarding.
