Cockatiels and other parakeets are very easy about that. You can shove them into the same cage without much of a fuss. Parrots are different. I probably would never put two parrots together in a cage unless they are a male and female of the same species who have connected as a couple.
Seperate species are, well, seperated. They have the same overall bodylanguage to us, but to them they might differ like night and day! A small insignificant behavior with one species might mean a very agressive offence to the other. You never know. Outside he cage that wouldnt be such a problem since a) you are there and b) they can get away from eachother. But in a confined space with you no where near to intervene, I wouldnt.
Kika: Senegal Parrot.
