is it worth a couple more inches?

Postby Giantmoa » Tue Aug 17, 2010 1:24 pm

so I have a pretty nice cage right now but I noticed a cage for sale thats basically 120$ or so. Its slightly bigger than my current cage and I wonder if it would be worth getting?
here is the link:
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... atid=12442

inside dimensions for that cage are: 30.5" x 20" x 40" high
inside dimensions for my cage are: 24" x 22" x 33" high

I'm not sure if it will really make a difference to my bird either way, or if I should invest in something else (like one of those spiffy parrot trees) some of the features of my current cage are lacking in this cage, like stainless steel cups and a play top, but those things can easily be fixed... so gimme your opinions? thanks =)

I say go for the tree. Unless your parrot is super active in the cage going all over the place, I don't think a few inches make a big difference. Also if your cage is just a few inches less than that one, you must have an abundantly sized cage for such a small parrot anyway. Out of cage time is what really provides value to a parrot anyway.

Given I'm not a fan of the cage, I say go for the tree :)

Careful with manzanita though, it not properly sanded, it's rather slippery for birds, you might want to add something to the branch (rope, vet wrap) to make is less slippery.
