Best eBay snag evah!

Postby Titanius » Tue Sep 14, 2010 4:23 pm

 This was my first time actually using ebay. So finding a nice cage manufacturer (close by) for my tiels was awesome. I ordered it on Sunday and it came today. The new cage is a bit empty because I just had to throw away the old toys a couple days before. Got some new ones coming in the mail in a couple days. -rant over . Feast your eyes. Diamond really spazzed out when she went inside the cage and messed up her tail feathers. Had to calm her down a bit but she settled in pretty fine. I love how small they look in the cage. :cockatiel:

That's not actually parakeet food in the cage. My sister went out to buy "bird" food and came back with that jar of stuff a long time ago. Now I just use it to hold the tiel food. Pretty convenient.

Thank you guys... As you can see I had way more "guillotine " doors to play with in the placement of food and water. In my old cage I would use a small ornament wire and coil it around the doors so they could not open. Doing this on a daily basis got amazingly tedious. Does anyone have any other ideas I could use to easily fasten the cage doors?

You can buy stainless steel small carabiner (sp) you know for rock climbing but only 1-2 inches at hardware stores, so you just have to clasp it on and off....voila!

Hello, I have a similar cage and have had problems with my lorikeet opening the guillotine doors. If I were you I would consider locking them permanently and getting other food bowls that can be placed inside the cage, as it is easier than opening the doors constantly. :D

These work for permanently closing the doors:

The pear shaped locks that are on top of bird toys also can be a good idea, as they are easy to undo.

yea i have a similar cage for my lorikeet also its the 604 avi one, so much room but its a bugger to get down the stairs every second day to clean

and hi issy i haven't seen you around in a while -o

i use twisty ties for closing the doors and sometimes if i dont want jango to hop out on my arm getting his bowls out i reach though the small door to get the bowl
