Have you ever kept a bird? Do lots of research if not! I'm new to birds myself so I can't be too helpful. Tell us more about the situation... what kind of bird?

When you bring the new bird into your home, keep it in a separate room then your bird's room. This is for health reasons. Just in case the new bird has some sort of disease, or if your bird does, they don't contaminate each other. You're supposed to keep them separated for about a month.

I guess since you're keeping the bird until Christmas, you won't have the time to introduce the birds.

Give us some more information on the type of bird it is, and we'll be happy to help!
