I'm not sure about that one in particular-- there don't seem to be many stats on the site about it, such as how many air changes per hour it does or the appropriate square footage it can clean, how often filters should be changed, etc. Personally I think one of the best air purifiers on the market, however, is the Austin Air and I highly recommend it.

While we're on the subject, has any one tried the Rabbit brand , rather pricey ,i thought (325=400) does 650-700 sq ft, washable filters, any comments? I haven't noticed the Austin Air, how does it compare?

I know several Rabbit owners. They're pretty decent for smaller rooms and they are much quieter. If you have a small room and a small/non-dusty flock, it should get the job done pretty well. Specs-wise, however, they aren't nearly the powerhouses that Austins are. I know one person with both an Austin and a Rabbit and she says the Austin is for sure the better purifier.

Austins are very pricey... I think they have junior models that start around $300 and then their full-sized, depending on the type, goes up to maybe $500 or even $600. I have a full sized Allergy Model and used to have a junior sized Health Mate. They're all stand alone units.

Thanks Natacha, i think i'm leaning toward the rabbit model, not only the price but the noise factor is a real issue also, how about the washable filter? wash it the sink? how much are the replacment filters? how long do they last ,10 washings,50 ? does yours run 24/7?

Mine does run 24/7.
I got earlier this year and haven't yet done anything to the filters except take off what has accumulated on top of the first filter by hand or with a vacuum. It's still running great so far.

The Austin Air purifiers are really fantastic. They may be somewhat more expensive although I have not found that to be true when compared to other top of the line air purifiers. The best part is that their filters are guaranteed for 5 years - don't know about the rabbit but many of the air purifiers require that you change the filters every six months or the warranty is void. Here's where I bought mine http://gonontoxic.com
