Cage Location

Postby Scarpath » Sun Mar 06, 2011 10:25 am

Hey guys! I just wanted to know where your bird cage is located!
My conures cage is located in my mom's office, my mom is there almost 24/7 because that's where she works. When my mom isn't there somebody else is there on the computer so they are never lonley. My budgies are in our family room where we are watching TV and playing video games.

They are across the house from each other so the 2 different kinds of birds don't fight.

Are my cage locations 'ok' ???
Where are your cages?
How can I be in two places at once, unless I were a bird?

My birds cages are right next to each other in my bedroom.

My birds are not my families pets. All of them are scared of them. So, they have to stay in my room. Which really isn't ideal. because of the mess they make of my bedroom. And it's impossible to take a nap without someone begging to be let out.

Anyways, for the time being, I spend the majority of my time with them in my bedroom.

I just can't wait to move out, so they have their own space, and I have my own space.

Ours are in our "office" room. It works well because we spend quite a bit of time in there during hte day when we are home, but we don't need to be in there late in the evening very often, so they get both plenty of traffic and quiet time at night.

I have a 400 sq. ft. studio apartment, with separation between bathroom/kitchen/living space. My birds are in the living space area, which serves as both bedroom and living room. When my new adoptee gets here Sunday, he will be in a cage near my budgies' cage.

Silly question, but what kind of bird are you bringing home?

I ended up deciding on a Green Cheek Conure, which I wasn't even considering before! I set up his cage yesterday, but I don't get him until Sunday. And because his cage is so giant compared to my budgies, they'll be getting a new cage next week!

The rescue named him QT Pie, but I'm planning on changing it.. mostly because of spelling. I'm thinking either Spencer (from the show Criminal Minds) or Alex (from the show White Collar). Luckily, both can be unisex names.

What a sweet pea! Make sure to take lots of pictures of him and his cage set up when you get him!

Oh, I definitely will. If I could get the two peabrain budgies I have to sit still for pictures, I'd take a lot more of them, too. But Pigpen refuses to let me move her away from the cage and playgym without flying away. And No Name flops his way away from me and is hard to get good pictures of. Hopefully this little guy will be a ham!

The budgies are ALWAYS doing something. So I hear ya!

Einstein however, he loves the camera wristband. I can't take a picture or video of him, without him flying onto me and trying to destroy the wristband. I feel like paparazzi, hiding the camera to take pictures.

My camera is a webcam, so I can set it on top of my monitor and let it go. But these two don't sit still long enough for me to get a decent picture of them.

I swear, budgies all have ADD or something. They're never just sitting still.
