Out of Cage Play area

Postby zazanomore » Wed Mar 23, 2011 10:57 am

So, yesterday I got the last shipment of what I ordered for Christmas. Custom rope things!

First, a cotton rope net. Einstein really loves it, and has been preening it all morning.

Second, a cotton rope latter.

And Finally, a really neat swing.

I also hung up an extra toy I had. This is how it all looks together:

The tops of both of their cages are littered in foot toys. We have Chinese finger traps, wooden blocks, parts from toys they've destroyed, a cuttle bone that I took out after they switched to a pellet mix diet (they still nibble on it occasionally), one food and water dish, and a teddy bear.

I love watching my birds playing. I'd hate for them to have nothing to do.

I keep on comparing myself to Natascha. Whenever I look at her bird room, it makes my little bird area seem pathetic :P

I guess in the future I'll keep adding to it, but for now, I think they're happy.

I bought them from a woman in Ireland. She hand makes them, and sells them on Etsy.

That is awesome! I'm like you - I love watching the birds play and behave naturally. People ask if my birds do any tricks. Shoot, why do they need to learn tricks? They're so fun to watch doing what they do.

That's a great area! How much did you pay for your bird net? I've been looking for one, but they're so expensive.

I paid about 20ish dollars for it with the discount I got for buying more than one item.

I'm actually surprised he took to the net so quickly. He likes things to be nice an sturdy. He avoids swings at all costs, but he seems to really like the net. I'm sure the cotton feels good on his feet.

Bonnie is going all jungle-bird right now. She keeps climbing up the rope/branch latter, and is swinging back and forth screaming.
