All together is better- Pictures!

Postby Margaret » Mon Apr 11, 2011 6:26 pm

Chico is together with budgies. They can all make as mess as they can and my bedroom is birds-free. Quarantine is over!
Chico cage is close to budgies. They have their toys in the cages and above. I can't hung anything from the ceiling wall, because then budgies treat it as theirs brunch and they don't want to come back to cage at night- tricky little monsters ;)

On the left budgies cage and on the right... don't call us locos! That tree has it's own history!
Image

The same tree after 3 days: more toys and millet make them go there! Do you think that birds caretakers really needs a Christmas Tree for Holidays if they can have one all year long

Something we make lately from leftovers from craft store- very easy and Chico on it:

And that's how Chico looks in top of his cage. Amount of toys is bigger today, than it was couple of days, when I made that picture.

So far they're Ok together. Only Blueberry(female budgie) try to fight Chico, but Tiel very fast show her, that she can be also mean. I have to watch them anyway, because I don't trust them.
They didn't visit each other cages yet, but they are often going on top of them to reach the toys hanging above them.
One day I have to tell you the history of that tree...

I love your tree!

The females are a bit territorial. Hopefully she gets over it, mine did. I'm sure they will all be co-existing peacefully in no time!

nice set up
I think with the amount of toys and treats we buy for our birds, it's xmas everyday anyway so why not throw in a tree hehehe.
Its really cool, reminds me of the tree i made for my old greencheek in africa (alot more trees and cool branches around there then here in the uk).
I suppose cockatiels and budgies have the best luck to get along and live around eachother, I tried to introduce lorenzo to the budgie downstairs but he looked like he wanted to attack. And of course the budgie owners were too scared to leave their baby near him or try again :(

I like your tree playstand and the mats on the wall! Much better than eating the window sills :D.

We have a patio umbrella holder that we're planning on using for a tree for our boys for when we move this summer (it's weird enough to sell a house with a bird room, let alone trees inside...).

Very cute corner! Do the budgies only sleep in that cage or do they hang out in there too? I couldn't imagine ever wanting to go back in their with a set up like that!

They loves it too except Mango. I never saw him on that tree yet. We don't know what exactly he has been trough before I rescue him, and that's why his reactions are sometimes different. Usually he is the first to check something new...

I'm not surprised for the budgie owners. Look at your Lorenzo, you know him, but for people who take care of budgie he may look as a big monster ;) Chico seems to completely ignore budgies except she sees them flying, and she wants to fly!

Can imagine no-bird people faces, when they see bird room. You must have fun watching they reaction

Thanks! Birds loves it too and that's the most important for me. History of tree is funny, because it didn't cost us nothing except our time and if not my boyfriend's dog, who found out stand in the bushes, there will be no tree yet. When my boyfriend call me, that his dog found out something in mug, my first thought was: another raccoon ;)

They're tricky! If something is hanging above their cage(higher than cage), they want to stay there at night and they don't want to come back to cage. that was the reason, we had to eliminate everything hanging from the ceiling wall. Also tree had to be cut smaller for the same reason. They spend nights at their cage willingly now. I'm even considering to buy them bigger cage, but since they only sleep there and eat...

I have to edit: Mango finally go to the tree and stay there for a while! :D
