Our GCCs get covered at night, but usually only as we're leaving to go to bed, they have no issue climbing into their sleep tent and going to sleep while we're watching tv.
With our Australian birds they're kinda around the corner from the living room so we can turn off the lights there without having to cover them, which is good as it freaks out Timmy having something thrown over him and Mali needs the light cause she has night frights.

Not sure why it took me so long to look it up - but I've purchased every bed, hut, tent, canopy perch, etc., for my Green Cheeked Conure (which he'd rather tear apart than sleep in) and he goes right back to hanging on the bars at night like a confused bat. (At least he's not upside down.) He's 11 so I don't think it's something he'll grow out of :gcc:

At least I read that sometimes they sleep on their back so if I ever find him that way I'll wait to have a heart attack AFTER checking to see if he's still breathing :-)

Mr Darcy has a sleeping cage....he has a platform with a green cuddle thing in the corner. He stands on the green fur thing and sleeps. I use a black polar fleece blanket around his cage at night, but not on top.

During the day he takes naps in his snuggle tent in his other cage. He even snores.....he usually hangs his head out the back end of the tent.

I've been thinking pretty seriously about getting Aaron a sleeping cage & putting it in my spare bedroom. Aaron more often than not tells me when he's ready for bed: he goes into his cage, gets low on his favorite perch, & starts his beak grating. So if I get a sleep cage, is it at that time that I should transfer him to the sleep cage? Or should I try to transfer him just before he starts settling down? Is the change in his routine going to cause him problems for a bit? I mean, I know he'll get over it & get used to the new routine - I'm just wondering what I should expect.

Jake has this circular toy thats called a shredder? in the picture its towards the top with pink things sticking out of it. Thats where he always sleeps.

Kiki sleeps on one of her perches with her face in her wing.
