A few weeks ago i posted under Parrot Tales a thread about 2 new amazon rescues and their new cages, i have since made it home and checked out the cages. Both are very large ,large enough for macaw or too',and seem to be very well made .I'm sure they were very expensive, and come with full zippered canvas covers, embroidered with C P cages. They also come with key locks on the doors and too many features too mention. I tried to research them but all i can find out is this, California Premium Cage Co seems to have split up into 2 Co.s , the other might now be California Orginial cages. C P Cage Co. seems to have gone out of business, too bad, about 2005. Maybe some of you with better skills can research this and find out if anyone is still making these cages, as i can't find anything wrong with them, except maybe the price. Wish i had a dozen more , as they make the others look like cheap pieces of crap. These cages also look like they may have interchangeable tops, ie; playground tops, dome tops etc. PS it seems they were made in "palo loma" Cal. or something like that.

It appears that California Premium Cage Company stopped providing cages for anyone other than southern California residents sometime in the past few years. They apparently had warehouses and distributors all over the U.S., but there was declining interest in their products and they decided to end national production. Their current plan is to end production and close their bird cage business completely, though I'm not sure if they've done so yet.

Their website is now defunct. It used to be http://www.calcages.com but that's just an empty website now. I believe I found this information on birdcages.com or birds.com, one of which still offers some of the California Cages they have in stock. But once they're gone, they're gone for good.

It's sad because they look like good quality cages. And from whichever site still had them, they were reasonably priced for the quality. I can't believe there wasn't more interest in them.
