Yea I do recomend getting a bigger cage. And you should probably put different perchs i there. If you keep haveing the same perch it can lead your Parakeet to have Authorites in its feet. It's like sleeping or sitting in the same chair or bed ALL the time. How would you feel if that were the case for you? (Sorry to be mean if that sounded like it)..... :?

http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4313509 This one Parakeets need a good bit of roo mto fly around in or you can get this one http://www.petco.com/product/114152/PETCO-Designer-White-Finch-Flight-Cage.aspx?CoreCat=OnSiteSearch I recomend the second one more though. Can fit more perchs and toys. And the Parakeet has plenty of room. The first one is from Petsmart and the second is from PetCo.

Yes, bigger cage by ALL means!!

As large as you can afford.
Take a look at my cage and its setup: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=5806

Birds NEED different perches of texture and diameter, and those wooden dowels you have cause foot cramps and joint problems if used long term. I would suggest natural branches, concrete perches, and rope perches. :)

i highly recommend the cage i bought for my budgie, also parrotlover has listed it too, you can just see my budgie sitting on the perch in the top right corner. my budgie uses every inch of space in this cage. i would never go any smaller than this budgies are extremely hyper birds and will use every bit of space you give them

Budgies should ALWAYS have big flight cage! Thy love to fly around in there cage and don't beed ALOT of out cage interaction but is always nice to have thwm around out the cae. :) i give my bqby cockatiel about 2-3 hrs out a day and she begs to comenif i dont take her out after 2-3 hours. She usually begs by her stop eating or chirpig a bit. Or just sitting there alone lol. But when it comes to night time dont touch her! She gets pissed off it's so cute you can tell she already has a prissy aditude and she grooms ALOT ia that normal?

Hey parrotlover- one important advice.. DO NOT give her attention when she screams. Birds quickly learn that screaming leads to attention and will scream all day. It's a problem very hard to fix. Better avoid it than try to reverse it down the road, because it is a pain.
