I would definitely buy the "AE Flight Cage" or "HQ Flight Cage" or any other that is the same style. I find it the best cage for small birds and it's definitely under $120 if you look on your local CL or Ebay, etc.

Your local bird fair, direct from the wholesaler. Unreal prices. Just disinfect everything before giving it to bird.

Otherwise, Petco actually interestingly enough has a well-priced cage right now. I was almost about to buy it myself for my Sun Conure. And if you wait for one of their 20% off sales (there is actually one going on right now at posting time), the price is even more amazing:

http://www.petco.com/product/114150/Pet ... -Cage.aspx

$191.99 (+tax) and free shipping for:

1/2" Wire Spacing
Cage with stand: 38.25" L X 38.25" W X 65" H
Cage: 30" L X 30" W X 43" H

HUGE CAGE for the price.

The color seems nice, too. Very unique and unobtrusive. I've seen this cage in person. The craftsmanship is acceptable but not outstanding. What's stopping me from buying it though is that I personally do not like play top stands, as it makes it dark and also difficult to hang toys from the top. Also, if your bird likes to climb upside down, it makes that hard, too. Also 1/2", which is much too narrow to offer treats and head scratches through the bars. As I have a Sun Conure (and a large one at that), I can use up to 1 inch spacing so I am going to see what I can find elsewhere.

However, if you're not picky like me, BUY IT. I usually try not to shop at Petco, but it's the best deal out there right now without comparison.

Happy searching.

Just wanted to mention that it comes with not two, not three, but FIVE stainless steel bowls. And three perches. Ugh... just looking at this cage makes me want to reconsider and just buy it. It does have bars under the playtop...

Nm. I guess it's 239.99. Still a good price, though.

I just bought a cage from petco and was pleased with price and CR. You must be careful of the REALLY inexpenzive cages as they usually are painted and not powder coated. Then you sun may be able to chew off the paint.

I have this cage for my green cheek conure I love it, I can put a ton of toys and foraging accessories in there and there is still plenty of space for him! The only down side is its a pain to cover at night  .

I am also looking for a discount cage, possibly from Craigslist. Does anyone have tips on how to properly disinfect a used cage?

I just bought a cage from www.drsfostersmith.com CC-78251 which is 37X23X47 with 5/8 inch spacing for my little flock of cockatiels. This cage makes them mobile to move to a warm part of the house at night and then back to the sunroom during the day. Instead of using the cross cage perches I just put side perches in with toys on each side of perch and swings hanging from the top so they can fly around a little.

I bought it with small cage spacing to let my lovie in with them. That did not work. Tiels are so passive that the lovie had them all pinned in one corner. In the sun room I had his cage wired to the side of theirs so they could see each other. Right now his cage is on top of theirs.

I need more planning.

Rambo and Myrtle have a cage about the same size. It is so heavy that I am considering buying another like the tiel cage for them (not that they stay in it but it will hold all their stuff and a play patio on top.
