Yeah, I would get the dometop over the other one you were looking at.

My major thing is those playtops tend to become really hard to clean and usually will be a contest point between you and birdie if birdie doesn't wanna come down.
The other thing is I could see the low adjoining part being really frustrating to get into to hang toys or get the bird or clean.

Thanks for helping me thru the decision making process. I've decided to get the dome top with the bigger interior space. Instead of play top, I'll come up with an alternative like a hanging gym he can destroy and can be easily replaced instead of an attached play top. I have to admit I never did come to terms with the boring single dowel on the top of the split level cage.
