Its not particularly clear in the photo but the feeding dish on the left has a small natural wood perch. The two dishes on the right, one has a concrete perch and the other has a rope perch. Then there is the big dowel perch that the cage came with. And finally at the bottom right there is a bigger natural wood perch. Although the natural wood has had their bark removed...

What is your definition of a toy? Is it something they purely get enjoyment from or would a foraging accessory count as a toy? What about a ladder?

I suppose it will be more of a case of seeing how much of it is used at a time... As you say Kili doesnt use the bottom half of her cage so any things down there would be wasted..

That's a very nice cage, i love the toys =]

You should always put perches at the bottom of the cage, if your bird falls down they can damage their feet.

I have about 7 perches in Sheldon's cage right now, although he is different because he spends most of his day at the bottom of the cage XD

Everybody make sure to put a rope perch as the highest perch and the concrete perch lower. You'll find that they spend most of their time on the top perch and you want that one to be comfortable. The concrete is hard on their feet if they spend too much time on it.

while good advice i think its important to remember that it might be species specific. Batman and some other AGP's do not perch high over night in captivity. They prefer to perch at a medium level and sometimes even on the cage floor. In the wild this may differ but in captivity its seems what they prefer.

Also because poop soaks into the rope perches more easily and they'll get ruined quicker if they are below.

Good point and thanks for pointing it out. Everybody should learn their own birds preferences because they are all unique! Just try to put the rope perch where your bird likes to sleep.

Also, the poop soaked rope perch is also a good point.

Pepper has a HQ Flight cage;
Image
32" wide, 21" deep and 35" high.
It is fairly large for one, tiny Lovie but I do believe that with cages Bigger really is better, and as she uses all of the space, it would be a shame to have her in anything smaller.
For anybody with small birds, I would really recommend a HQ Flight.

Buddy has 3 cages 2 stands depending where we are....

In the dining/living room area is his main cage, 28x28x50 (a King cage)
Bedroom cage for sleep (24x24x36 - a King cage)
And a travel cage - he stays with my vet when I am out of town - 24x24x32

He has 2 stands, one tree stand in the family room and another in our den.
