Cage Choices

Postby earthenwings » Sun May 27, 2012 3:36 pm

We've been deliberating getting our white bellied caique, Tof, a larger cage than the one he's currently in. The two cages that we're considering are:

1. http://www.birdscomfort.com/medium_bird_cage.html or
2. http://www.birdscomfort.com/exotic_bird_cages.html

They're both HQ cages because the cage we currently have is an HQ. We did try out a Centurion cage last weekend, and found that the quality was severely lacking, so we just want to stick with what we know. However, we've never purchased a cage from this online retailer, and were wondering if anyone has had any experience working with them. Also, if you've owned either of these cages, give us your opinions on the pros and cons! :) Thanks in advance!

I have a WBC :caique: as well and while I am not familiar with the two HQ cages you posted I own this cage http://www.petco.com/product/114150/Pet ... Redirect=1 which has similar dimensions and somewhat resembles one of your choices. The cage is more than large enough and Iago has tons of room for climbing, and swinging. With the second cage because it is not all one size it could limit his ability to fly from side to side- just a thought. Either way I'm glad to see you're considering larger dimension cages- Caiques need that so much :)

Good point, I hadn't thought about that! I guess I was more concerned with getting a cage that had enough height for a lot of ceiling toys to dangle and play from, but one that wasn't the same height all the way across since he can sometimes play so hard that he falls to the bottom. I also love how long it is, since he likes to play on the bottom. He throws his foot toys and then chases them all over, especially his wiffle ball. ;) Thanks for your feedback!
