I've heard more width is better for all parrots due to parrots enjoying bring up high and thus would not use most of a cage that is taller rather than wider. My cage is nice and wide and my Senegal loves it. She actually clambers all over the place but definitely likes her perches up Hugh.

Width is better but agree with Michael that both are good.
