For that kinda money I think you're better off with the aluminum kings cage. Here's what I thought about mine:

It was the first cage that I wanted but I want bigger than this now , they say the minimum for a gray is 32x24, i'm looking at at least 38x28. 1 also read that for bigger beaks like african grey it was not suitable as the bird would be able to bend the bars???

I'm from Canada and to ship the aluminium cage it would come to a total of a 1000$ plus the price of my bird 1600$. I am trying to find a good quality under 800$ with shipping, I don't know if that`s possible... At the same time I don't want to buy a cage that I will have to change in 6 months from now because it`s rusted!

My Cape Parrot is about the same size as a Grey and has a beak 3 times bigger. He hasn't bent any bars yet and I know he can bend metal because he's bent the window shade supports. Get the dome top. That adds a lot of interior area. You'll see the volume and reasoning for this in my blog article. The dimensions are more than suitable. I'm sure I could have gotten away with a smaller cage but since I could afford it and the space I'm happy I got this one. There are some inconveniences with this cage but overall it is better than the others. Don't forget to add another $100 for stainless steel food bowls and rings as the aluminum cage doesn't come with them. It comes with junky plastic bowls that you can immediately throw in the garbage.

I found that I bought too many rings though. The cage has 4 doors so I got 4 rings and 8 bowls. I've never kept more than 2 rings/bowls in the cage at a time. And since I use a water bottle really it's just 1 food bowl. So if you think through how you will use it, you can save money by not buying the unnecessary rings/bowls. While a bigger cage couldn't hurt, I think the durability and quality of this cage outweighs a minor increase in size with another. And remember that no matter how big the cage, it is no substitute for quality out of cage time and flight.

My grey is housed in the aluminium cage and I've never found any problems. I would definitely recommend these as its a breeze to cleanup and very light weight to move around.

i have the smaller aluminium travel cage by Kings as a temp cage for my grey---absolutely get these over the AE cages---they're worth the money.

The cheaper cages....well you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay the money upfront than deal with shoddy construction and rust etc that causes me to need to replace the AE cages frequently enoguh.
