I would honestly say it depends on the bird, Ollie would love to be up near the window but it would stress Harlie out so her cage stays in a corner so the walls give her a sense of security. If you get a cage on casters then you can move it about to add variety if you have a confident bird and you have the floor space to do so. As long as there are no drafts or direct sunlight you should be fine, but I would put the cage half and half across the window and wall so s/he can see out when the blinds are open but has a bit of wall for security and a bit of privacy. Alternitively you could always part cover the cage so the bird has a little corner to retire to if that isn't pratical for you or the birds a bit skittish.
