I know I end up wasting a lot of medicine and supplements because I also put their antibiotics, aloe vera and, when necessary, lactulose in their water but it's easier for me and for them... It might sound lazy on my part but I have so many animals that require attention in terms of time, care and medicines or supplements that if I didn't make things easier on me, I would be overwhelmed - right now I have ten cats with two old ones (18 and 17) that require supplements and one that lives in my bedroom because one of the old cats doesn't like her, six dogs with an old one (17) that needs meds for liver issues and a urinary tract infection, one that needs supplements and to be hand-fed twice a day because she has advanced Alzheimer and, to put the icing on the cake, my husband's love of his life, Bunny, a 17+ year old bichon mix with epilepsy, pancreatitis and a lesion on the side of her mouth that doesn't want to heal fell down the stairs and broke one of her back legs in two places so we had to rush her to the emergency and, although they put a splinter on her leg, she needs to go to a specialist for surgery (metal pin and external fixator) -she alone is taking 6 different meds, 2 once a day, 2 twice a day, 1 three times a day and another 1 once every three days -and she is refusing to eat so I've been feeding her warm milk with an egg yolk and a high calorie vitamin/mineral booster mixed into it three times a day. Two of the dogs require diapers 24/7 and two of them need to be carried everywhere. Then I have the birds in the canary room, the ones in the living and the ones in the dining room, the ones in the birdroom, the street ones (pigeons, sparrows, mourning doves and starlings) and the feral cats that I feed twice a day. And it's breeding season with all the problems it brings! I have bins with 4 different kinds of dry food and 4 kinds of cans for cats, 3 different kinds of kibble and 3 kinds of cans for dogs (plus 'human' food like roasted chicken and rice for the old little ones that get picky), 2 types of gloop, 5 different kinds of seed mix and an entire wall kitchen cabinet for all their meds and supplements... I tell you, it's a freaking zoo in here and there is just the one zookeeper!

At some point, after several years and 22 pages of posts, this thread outgrew the "introduction" forum.

Perhaps, I could move it, but this is an older forum program and it seems to work quite well most of the time, but as we have all noted, it is fickle and goes on runs where it crashes a lot and we don't know from one day to the next if we can get on the site. Bearing this in mind I think it would be much safer, as far as not losing any of the information it contains, to just start a new topic and then include a link back to this one for those interested in this story from the start.

I have been successful in moving some of the small topics that were posted in the wrong place, but really don't want to chance messing this one up.

Tanya is now on Atorvastatin for cholesterol.

It's compounded and only last a couple of weeks. And it's $50 for the 2 week supply.

I have to find a pharmacy closer to home who will compound it.

Beautiful photos. Welcome to the group (from a fellow newbie). :)

May I inquire how you managed to link them from Photobucket? I tried to do the same but could not make the "Img" button work for me.

TIA

I just copy the last option on photobucket, and put it in the body of the post.

Well, I do agree that this is way too long to continue in the " Introductions" section I am going to start a new topic for this in the " General Parrot Care section of the forum and am Placing links in both topics to make it easier to switch from one to the other. Please post all responses in the new topic instead of here.

Here is the link to the new topic to make the transition easier for everyone.

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=15387

I hope that this proves satisfactory for everyone.
