Guess who got a new bird!!!

Postby ParrotsForLife » Thu May 19, 2016 12:02 pm

Well its like I got a new bird and all I did was give all the birds a bath and Mango decides to climb up on my finger and now we have been training the past few minutes and its only taking him like 3 seconds to step up and he is not running away from my fingers anymore.I am so happy now I know ill have him tame for Summer.Im going to bring him to the pet store later (More like pet supplies store) they don't sell pets just supplies and great toys and treats.

Took my sister a long time to get a good picture lol I guess this one will have to do.

Don't get too excited. Because you didn't "earn" the trust or teach the bird to step up in a concrete/reproducible manner, you can just as quickly lose it. I would suggest using this opportunity to train and practice step-up for positive reinforcement so lock it in for the long run and to have a method you can revert to.
