I sign on lots and lots and lots of petitions on animals and, although I never put them here, I decided to do this one because it's about African Grays and the situation is really dire, guys.
This is a petition to request CITES to move the African Gray parrot from their appendix II to their appendix I so whereas before, they were keeping their eyes on them, now their trade would be regulated. The wild poaching of grays for use as pets in Africa and Asia has escalated to enormous proportions in the past few years and it is calculated that their populations decline in recent years has been 90 to 99%!!!! Poachers, responding to the demand in countries where it's not illegal to buy a poached birds are, literally and without exaggeration, bringing the species to the point of extinction! If we can stop it now, they might have a chance to make it. Please sign.
