Welcome, Bunchy, Daisy and their slave! Have they been DNA'd male and female? How are they getting along?

Yes, DNA'd. So far so good. They had a " soft " meeting a few times under our watchful eyes.Did'nt pay too much attention to each other. All in do time. The baby Daisy is starting to talk. Bunchy just whistles so maybe she will catch on.

Welcome to the forum.

I don't know how much of an effect being around a talking bird will have on Bunchy, your non talking bird. My CAG does talk, but until now, she refuses to talk in front of anyone other than myself and if anyone else is nearby she will not talk with me. She lives with a Senegal that is currently learning to speak and with an Amazon that only talks human and no bird talk. As far as I know, no one has any idea what causes one parrot to talk in human words and another one to not speak any human words. Still they are incredibly intelligent and if we will just learn to pay attention to them, they will find a way even without human words to let us know what ever they want us to know.

Yes, nobody knows why one bird learns to speak human and another one doesn't. And I do hope from the bottom of my heart that they do bond with each other but, in my personal experience, it's not an easy thing to achieve - I had 6 grays, have 2 now and none of them ever bonded with another one, not even a brother and sister that had been raised together.
